BENEFITS
FAQ’s

How Does It Work?
Stress causes disruptions and overactivity of the nervous system and adrenals which impacts the body and disturbs health. Over time, elevated cortisol levels cause inflammation, high blood pressure, low immune system response, hormone disruption, and weight gain.
Acupuncture research shows that Acupuncture points directly impact the nervous system and adrenal gland to block the excessive stimulation of these systems and therefore soothe the harmful effects of hyperactivity and stress.
Acupuncture causes a strong and powerful healing response in the body that can have an effect ranging from pain relief, hormonal balancing, stress and anxiety reduction, immunity-boosting, inflammation reduction, and so much more.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Acupuncture hurt?
No. In fact, most report feeling a deep sense of relaxation during their acupuncture session. Most people even fall asleep. And to set your mind further at ease, my pediatric patients love acupuncture! If they can relax and enjoy their session, so can you!
What types of Acupuncture do you provide at Calma Care
Acupuncture has a wide variety of applications such as Adult, Geriatric, Pediatric, and Cosmetic and at Calma Care, we practice all of the above!
How many sessions will I need?
Though Acupuncture provides immediate results, long-lasting relief comes from a series of treatments.
Treatment time varies depending on the person as well as the condition being treated. It is likely that an acute or recent issue will require less visits than a chronic issue.
Often we recommend that even once the issue has resolved, maintenance sessions should be scheduled on an interval to allow the continued benefits of decreased stress and inflammation on the body.
